Steps to enable ring-first routing
Go to Call Routing in the menu
Select Ring my phone first
Enter the phone number you want to ring
Set the ring timeout (how long to ring before AI takes over)
Save your settings

Customer calls your AI number directly
Your phone rings for the timeout period
If you answer β You take the call normally
If you don't answer β AI Receptionist takes over
Caller doesn't know there was a handoff
Ring timeout options
10 seconds - Quick handoff to AI
15 seconds - Standard (3-4 rings)
20 seconds - Gives you more time to answer (default)
30 seconds - Maximum time before AI
Tips for effective use
Set timeout based on how quickly you can typically answer
Consider where your phone usually is (pocket vs desk)
Test to ensure smooth handoff to AI
If you're often busy, shorter timeout is better
Note: If you forward calls from your existing number to the AI, your phone already rings first. This setting is only needed if customers call your AI number directly.
