Steps to customise your opening message

  1. Go to Receptionist Settings in the menu

  2. Find the Opening Message section

  3. Edit the text in the message field

  4. Keep it under 300 characters

  5. Your changes save automatically

Default opening message

"Thank you for calling. How can I help you today?"

Tips for effective opening messages

Do:

  • Include your business name

  • Keep it friendly and professional

  • Be concise (under 300 characters)

  • End with an open question

Don't:

  • Make it too long (callers want to speak quickly)

  • Include complex information

  • Use jargon or technical terms

Example opening messages

  • "Hi, thanks for calling [Business Name]! How can I help you today?"

  • "Good morning, you've reached [Business Name]. What can I do for you?"

  • "Hello! Thank you for calling [Business Name]. I'm here to help - what can I assist you with?"
