What are the booking mode options?

Compare the three booking modes: Just Take Messages, I'll Follow Up, and Take Bookings with calendar integration.

Booking modes control how your AI Receptionist handles appointment requests. Choose the mode that fits how you want to manage your schedule.

Three booking modes

  1. Just Take Messages

    • AI collects information but does not discuss appointments

    • Acts like an intelligent voicemail

    • You follow up manually with all callers

    • Best for: Businesses that don't take bookings, or want complete control

  2. I'll Follow Up

    • AI collects booking details (what they need, when they're available)

    • AI tells caller you'll follow up to schedule

    • You contact the caller to confirm the appointment

    • Best for: Businesses that want to personally arrange appointments

  3. Take Bookings (Requires calendar connection)

    • AI checks your calendar availability

    • AI works with caller to find suitable times

    • Bookings appear in your Pending tab for confirmation

    • Best for: Businesses wanting automated scheduling with final approval

How to change your booking mode

  1. Go to Receptionist Settings in the menu

  2. Find Conversation Handling section

  3. Select your preferred booking mode

  4. Changes apply to the next call

Note: "Take Bookings" mode is only available when you have a calendar connected. If greyed out, connect your Google or Outlook calendar first.
