My calendar won't connect

Fix calendar connection issues including blocked popups, browser problems, and organisation restrictions.

Updated this week

If you're having trouble connecting your Google or Outlook calendar, try these solutions.

Solution 1: Allow popups

Calendar connection requires a popup window.

In Chrome:

  1. Look for a blocked popup icon in the address bar

  2. Click it and select "Always allow popups from CyberStaff"

  3. Try connecting again

In Safari:

  1. Go to Safari > Preferences > Websites > Pop-up Windows

  2. Allow for CyberStaff

  3. Try connecting again

Solution 2: Try a different browser

Some browser extensions can interfere.

  • Try Chrome, Firefox, or Edge

  • Try incognito/private browsing mode

  • Disable ad blockers temporarily

Solution 3: Clear cookies and cache

Old session data can cause issues.

  1. Clear your browser's cookies and cache

  2. Log into CyberStaff again

  3. Try calendar connection again

Solution 4: Check Google/Microsoft account

For Google Calendar:

  • Make sure you're logged into the correct Google account

  • Try logging out of Google and back in

  • Check you have calendar enabled on your Google account

For Outlook Calendar:

  • Verify you're using the correct Microsoft account

  • Ensure your organisation allows third-party apps

  • Contact your IT admin if using a work account

Solution 5: Organisation restrictions

Work/school accounts may block third-party access.

Google Workspace:

  • Your admin may need to approve CyberStaff

  • Ask IT to whitelist the application

Microsoft 365:

  • Your admin may need to approve in Azure AD

  • Ask IT about third-party app permissions

Solution 6: Revoke and retry

If previously connected but having issues:

  1. Go to your Google/Microsoft account security settings

  2. Find connected apps

  3. Revoke CyberStaff's access

  4. Try connecting again from CyberStaff
