Call forwarding code isn't working

Fix call forwarding issues including WiFi Calling interference, wrong carrier detection, and digital landlines.

Updated this week

If the forwarding dial code doesn't work when you try to activate call forwarding, try these solutions.

Solution 1: Turn off WiFi Calling

WiFi Calling can interfere with dial codes.

On iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings > Phone > WiFi Calling

  2. Turn off WiFi Calling

  3. Try the dial code again

  4. Turn WiFi Calling back on after (if desired)

On Android:

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > WiFi Calling

  2. Turn off WiFi Calling

  3. Try the dial code again

Solution 2: Check carrier detection

We automatically detect your carrier, but it may be wrong.

  1. Go to Call Routing in the menu

  2. Look at the detected carrier

  3. If wrong, click Change carrier

  4. Select your actual carrier from the list

  5. Try the new dial code provided

Solution 3: Digital landlines

Traditional dial codes don't work with internet-based phone lines:

  • BT Digital Voice

  • Sky Phone

  • Virgin Media phone

  • VoIP providers

Alternative for digital lines:

  1. Log into your phone provider's app or website

  2. Find call forwarding settings

  3. Set up forwarding to your AI Receptionist's number

  4. This achieves the same result without dial codes

Solution 4: Try from different location

Some offices block certain dial codes.

  • Try from outside your office

  • Use mobile data instead of WiFi

  • Test from a different phone

Solution 5: Carrier restrictions

Some business phone plans restrict call forwarding.

  • Contact your phone provider

  • Ask them to enable conditional call forwarding

  • They may need to adjust your plan settings
